FreeOnlineChatRooms.com (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects our users to do the same. In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 (DMCA) and other applicable laws, we respond to valid notices of alleged copyright infringement.

Because our platform provides real-time, anonymous, and user-generated chat services, we do not actively monitor every message or link shared by users. However, we take copyright violations seriously and will act promptly to remove infringing content or restrict users who violate this policy.

1. How to File a DMCA Takedown Notice

If you are a copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of one, you may submit a DMCA notice by contacting our Designated Copyright Agent.

To be valid, your notice must include:

  • Signature: A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized representative
  • Identification of the Original Work: A clear description of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed
    • If multiple works are involved, you may provide a representative list
  • Identification of the Infringing Material:
    Sufficient detail to help us locate the content, such as:
    • Chat room name
    • User nickname
    • Timestamp
    • Screenshot (if available)
  • Contact Information:
    Your name, email address, and any additional details necessary to contact you
  • Good Faith Statement:
    A statement that you believe the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
  • Accuracy Statement:
    A statement that the information provided is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner

2. Our Response to DMCA Notices

Upon receiving a valid and complete DMCA notice, we may take action at our sole discretion, including:

  • Removing or disabling access to the infringing material

  • Blocking specific links or content from being shared

  • Restricting or banning users responsible for violations

In our effort to be transparent, we may share a copy of each legal notice we receive with the Lumen Database for publication and annotation.

3. Repeat Infringer Policy

We enforce a strict Repeat Infringer Policy.

Users who repeatedly share copyrighted material without authorization may be permanently banned, including blocking access by IP address where appropriate.

4. Counter-Notification

If you believe that your content was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notification.

Your counter-notice must include:

  • Your signature (physical or electronic)
  • Identification of the removed material and its prior location
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you believe the material was removed by mistake or misidentification
  • Your contact information
  • A statement consenting to the jurisdiction of your local court

We may restore the content if appropriate under applicable law.

5. False Claims Warning

Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly submits a false claim of infringement may be subject to legal liability.
